Praise for Spanish Website

I am writing to commend APA and its Spanish Language Communications Working Group for developing an educational website for Spanish speakers, LaSaludMental.org, as announced in the November issue. This is a much-needed, valuable resource for the Hispanic community.
The website builds upon the work that APA has done to create materials for Spanish-speaking psychiatrists. For example, 20 years ago I worked with a distinguished group of Hispanic colleagues to develop the “Psychiatry Update in Spanish” educational series at APA Annual Meetings from 2002 to 2007. The Annual Meeting attracts Spanish-speaking psychiatrists from a number of countries.
That we continue to reach out to our Spanish-speaking colleagues and patients is vitally important to forward the mental health of individuals at home and abroad. ■
