To the Editor: John Talbott has been a champion of those who suffer the worst form of mental illness and the dedicated professionals who care for them. He has amazing energy and drive and has created in Psychiatric Services a scientific journal of exceptional quality that focuses on this important topic.

We owe him much, and we will miss him.
