Group Therapy in the Management of Manic-Depressive Illness

Abstract

Patients with bipolar affective illness have often been viewed as poor candidates for psychotherapy. Groups of this kind may offer a simple, cost-effective adjunct to lithium prophylaxis. They offer the advantages of psychotherapy to a group of patients whom mental health professional have regarded as resistant to it.
