Art Association Urges Members To Reveal Their Talents

APA members and their spouses had an opportunity to unveil themselves during the 32nd APA Art Exhibit, held in conjunction with the 2001 annual meeting in New Orleans.
This year’s exhibit attracted entries of remarkable quality. Most visitors became impromptu art critics, casting ballots to determine the winners in each of 10 categories. Awards were presented to the winners at a ceremony on May 8 by incoming APA President Richard Harding, M.D.
Ready to greet visitors at the APA Art Association's exhibit at APA’s 2001 annual meeting in New Orleans in May are Barbara L. Kennedy, M.D., Ph.D., president of the APA Art Association (seated), and Gail Barton, M.D.
New officers were elected at the annual business meeting. Barbara L. Kennedy, M.D., Ph.D., was re-elected for another term as president; Wilma Rosen, M.D., will continue on as secretary and editor of the APA Art Association’s newsletter; Astrid Rusquellas, M.D., is the new treasurer; and Elizabeth Small, M.D., will be the coordinator of next year’s exhibit.
The time has arrived for APA members and spouses to express themselves, to show the courage to unshroud their restless unconscious. It is essential to be neither timid nor alarmed (though some might be startled) when letting loose their latent artistic potential, which every one of us has. The APA Art Association’s door is open and ready to capture that potential.
