Herz to Present First Gralnick Lecture

Marvin Herz, M.D., is the 2003 recipient of the American Psychiatric Foundation’s Alexander Gralnick, M.D., Award for Research in Schizophrenia, and he will present the first lecture in connection with that award on Thursday, October 30, at APA’s 2003 Institute on Psychiatric Services.
Herz is a professor emeritus of psychiatry at the University of Rochester. He was recognized for his long research career on the optimal treatment of and service delivery for severely mentally ill individuals. In his lecture, he will talk about early intervention in patients at different phases of the schizophrenia disease process.
The lecture will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. All attendees are invited to the reception immediately afterward and meet and talk informally with Herz. ▪
