Exemplary Psychiatrists Receive NAMI Awards

The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) honored 16 physicians by presenting its 2004 Exemplary Psychiatrist Awards at APA's annual meeting last month in New York City.
“Exemplary psychiatrists are caring professionals who go the extra mile to help their communities,” said NAMI Acting National Executive Director Michael J. Fitzpatrick. “They share our commitment to improving the quality of life for people living with brain disorders, ensuring dignity, raising public awareness, and working to increase access to needed treatment and services.”
The 2004 awards focus on practitioners developing or directing innovative training programs that demonstrate consumer and family-driven best practices. The program is supported by Eli Lilly and Co.
