Lifers to Meet

If you are a life member or life fellow of APA, plan to join the APA Lifers organization at its activities to be held in conjunction with APA’s 2004 annual meeting in New York in May.
The schedule that has been followed in the past has been changed for 2004. The annual Business Meeting and Forum will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, rather than on Monday. The program will consist of the business meeting and presentations by James H. Scully Jr., M.D., APA medical director; Stephen Scheiber, M.D., executive vice president of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; and Deborah Hales, M.D., director of APA’s Division of Education, Minority, and National Programs. In addition, an election will be held to select the Lifers’ next officers.
That evening the Lifers will hold its annual reception from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Harold Berson, M.D., Award will be presented, and a drawing for a door prize of $100 will be held. The evening’s festivities are a great opportunity to make new acquaintances and catch up with friends and colleagues.
All events will take place in the Princess Ballroom on the second floor of the Sheraton New York Hotel.
Additional information will be mailed to all Lifers in February. Information may also be obtained by calling Barbara Matos, staff liaison, at (703) 907-8517.
