Assembly Candidates Announced

At the APA Assembly's November meeting in Washington, D.C., candidates for the group's top offices were announced.
Vying for the speaker-elect's post will be Jeffrey Akaka, M.D., of Honolulu, and Philip Margolis, M.D., of Ann Arbor, Mich.
Akaka is currently the Assembly recorder, and Margolis is a representative from the Michigan Psychiatric Society.
Ronald Burd, M.D., of Fargo, N.D., and Sheila Judge, M.D., of Philadelphia will compete to succeed Akaka as recorder.
Burd is the Assembly's Area 4 representative, and Judge is a representative of the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society.
The election will be held at the Assembly's next meeting, which will be in Toronto in May, just prior to the opening of the APA annual meeting.
