Nominations Sought For Education Positions

APA seeks nominees for an ABPN psychiatry director position and for appointment to the Residency Review Committee (RRC) for psychiatry. Terms for both positions begin January 1, 2008.
Among the requirements for the ABPN position are ABPN board certification and completion of a recertification examination, an unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. state or territory, and significant prior experience in ABPN activities (for example, as an oral examiner or test-writing committee member). The deadline for applications is March 1.
The RRC appointment is for three years, renewable once. Nominees must be nationally known and respected educators. Requirements include experience as a psychiatry residency training director or demonstration of a high level of familiarity with the Essentials and Special Requirements for Psychiatry. The deadline for applications is May 1.
