Applications Invited

The American Psychiatric Foundation seeks applications for its 2009 Awards for Advancing Minority Mental Health program. This program provides awards of $5,000 each to recognize psychiatrists, other health professionals, mental health programs, and organizations for innovative and supportive efforts to raise awareness in underserved minority communities of mental illness, the need for early recognition, the availability of treatment and how to access it, and the cultural barriers to treatment, as well as to improve the quality of care for and access to that care by underserved minorities, particularly those in the public health system or with severe mental illness.
Applications must be postmarked by December 1.
