Errata

The article “Hoarding Disorder Data Suggest It’s Not OCD Subtype” in the October 21, 2011, issue incorrectly reported that Randy Frost, Ph.D., is a member of the DSM-5 Work Group on Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum, Posttraumatic, and Dissociative Disorders. In fact, he is not involved in the DSM-5 development process as either a work group member or advisor.

In an article about Pamela Collins, M.D., M.P.H., in the December 2, 2011, issue, the names of several investigators were not included in the article. Collins is associate director for special populations, director of the Office for Research on Disparities and Global Mental Health, and director of the Office of Rural Mental Health Research at NIMH. The initiative of that office, named Collaborative Hubs for International Research on Mental Health, includes the following investigators and research centers:

Crick Lund, Ph.D., of the University of Cape Town; Atalay Alem, M.D., Ph.D., of Addis Ababa University; and Ezra Susser, M.D., Dr.P.H., of Columbia University are involved in the Africa Focus on Intervention Research for Mental Health program to improve the delivery of cost-effective interventions for mental disorders in sub-Saharan Africa. Partner countries include Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

Vikram Patel, M.D., Ph.D., of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and Atif Rahman, Ph.D., of the University of Liverpool, are involved in the South Asian Hub for Advocacy, Research, and Education on Mental Health in South Asia, focusing on research addressing policy questions related to reducing the treatment gap for mental disorders in the region. Activities are centered in Pakistan and India, with partners in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Susser and Sandro Galea, M.D., Dr.P.H., M.P.H., of Columbia University, and Ruben Alvarado, M.D., Ph.D., and Graciela Rojas, M.D., of the University of Chile, are involved with the Hub for Latin America to test interventions for community health care for people with serious mental illness. The hub will involve researchers in Chile, Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia.
