Annual Meeting Highlights Schedule

Here are just some of the annual meetings highlights and general information that you’ll want to note in your schedule:
Registration/Course Enrollment: Friday, May 4, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. (11 a.m.-noon for members only); Saturday-Tuesday, May 5-8, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Wednesday, May 9, 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m.; Hall C, Pennsylvania Convention Center
Courses/Master Courses: Saturday, May 5, 8 a.m.-noon, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., 1 p.m.-5 p.m. (Buprenorphine course is from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.), Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Sunday, May 6, 8 a.m.-noon, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (no afternoon courses), Pennsylvania Convention Center and Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.
Monday, May 7, 8 a.m.-noon, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and 1 p.m.-5 p.m., Pennsylvania Convention Center and Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.
Tuesday, May 8, 8 a.m.-noon, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and 1 p.m.-5 p.m., Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Scientific Sessions: Saturday, May 5, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. with break from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for attendees to visit Exhibit Hall. Monday-Wednesday, May 7-9, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (with break from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday for attendees to visit Exhibit Hall). All sessions at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Evening Media Workshops: Sunday, May 7, 7 p.m.-10 p.m.; Monday, May 8, 7 p.m.-10 p.m.; Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.
New Research Posters: Resident Competition Poster Sessions: Saturday, May 5, 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.-3:30 p.m. New Research/Young Investigator Poster Sessions: Sunday, May 6, 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.-3 p.m. New Research Poster Sessions: Monday and Tuesday, May 7-8, 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m., 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m.-4 p.m. All poster sessions will be held in Exhibit Hall C, Pennsylvania Convention Center.
APA Member Center, APP Bookstore, Publishers’ Bookfair, and Career Fair: Saturday, May 5, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sunday-Tuesday, May 6-8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Exhibits: Sunday-Tuesday, May 6-8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (dedicated hour 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Sunday, and 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday).
Opening Session: Sunday, May 6, 4:30 p.m.-6:45 p.m. Opening Ceremonies and speeches will be followed by a conversation between Glen O. Gabbard, M.D., and Aaron T. Beck, M.D., moderated by APA President John M. Oldham, M.D. (see Beck Gabbard to Probe Two Forms of Psychotherapy). Terrace Ballroom I-III, Level 4, Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Convocation of Distinguished Fellows: Monday, May 7, 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. The William C. Menninger Memorial Convocation Lecture will be presented by Edward Kennedy Jr. (see Ted Kennedy Continues Family’s MH Advocacy). Terrace Ballroom I-III, Level 4, Pennsylvania Convention Center.
American Psychiatric Foundation Benefit: Monday, May 7, 7 p.m.-10 p.m., Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (see Historic Setting Will Frame Foundation’s Annual Benefit).
MindGames: Tuesday, May 8, 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.
Shuttle Busing: Saturday-Wednesday, May 5-9; starts each day at 7 a.m. for pickup at hotels. The last bus departs from the Pennsylvania Convention Center on this schedule: Saturday, May 5, 5:30 p.m.; Sunday, May 6, 7:30 p.m.; Monday, May 7, 7 p.m.; Tuesday-Wednesday, May 8-9, 5:30 p.m. There will be no evening shuttle buses.
