The relationship between psychiatric services and law enforcement has evolved along many fronts. Psychiatrists are called on for consultation, training, or assessment as treatment providers and as forensic experts. In this chapter, we review areas of intersection and highlight unique aspects of psychiatric work with law enforcement.
